It’s estimated that 100 - 150 billion garments are being manufactured every year. Over production is made worse by the fact that less than 1% of clothing is currently recycled. As it currently stands, a fashion brand’s responsibility for a garment ends when it is sold to a loving home. But what if that moment was only the beginning? What if brands started taking responsibility for the full life cycle of the clothes they make? Navigating the circular fashion economy would be a lot easier, and the responsibility wouldn’t be placed on individual consumers - which sounds like a good thing to us.

In 2022, we partnered with our friends at Owni, an AI powered digital catalogue for everything you own and want to sell. The aim is to take the hard work out of resale. Think of it as like Depop, without the drama. OWNI creates product listings for you based on what you have already purchased from us at Birdsong. Uploading listings takes as little as 30 seconds. The payment system is hassle-free and secure. All you have to do is post the items you’ve sold.

You can also find beloved Birdsong items for less in our archive. We want to make second hand shopping as easy as buying brand new. We verify each listing and ensure it includes detailed material and sizing info, so you get exactly what you paid for.

About Owni
OWNI is a resale marketplace where users can buy and sell second hand clothes from their favourite brands. It is powered by a unique product lifecycle tracker that follows garments as they move between buyer and seller. Garments on Owni can be sold, booked for repairs, donated and eventually recovered for effective recycling. Owni aims to end fashion waste by enabling brands to become circular, and by helping shoppers get more from their wardrobes.
